Malawian hip-hop star Phyzix is set to receive a legendary honour at the upcoming Malawi Night event in Blantyre.
The rapper will be recognised as one of the pioneers and trailblazers of Hip Hop music in Malawi for his contribution to the growth of the genre.
Malawi Night publicist Marie Thom confirmed the development, saying the award is reserved for artists who have made a significant impact in the music industry.
“We give this special honour to our artists who have played a major role in music to help advance the art of creating and singing good music,” Thom said.
She said Phyzix is deserving of the recognition having remained consistent and influential in the industry for over two decades.
“Phyzix deserves the honour because he has been in music for a long time and has released many songs consistently for over 20 years,” she said.
The Malawi Night event is scheduled for next Saturday at Blues Bar in Blantyre.
