Jamaican Reggae Musician Reanno Devon Gordon, well known by his stage name Busy Signal, has donated $1,000 (about K1.8 million) each to two Malawian children charity organisations.
Lilongwe-based Zoe Foundation and Blantyre’s Courageous Kids Foundation received $1,000 each through Malawian musician Wendy Harawa.
During the donation, Harawa, who has been connected to the Jaimacan musician as his music shows promoter in Malawi, said the donation was in line with Busy Signal Global Initiative aimed at assisting the less-privileged.
She said: “On behalf of Busy Signal, $2,000 total given $1,000 to Temwa Chilenga of Zoe Foundation in Lilongwe and $1,000 to Courageous Kids in Blantyre and a wheelchair given to a woman in Lirangwe.
“Thank you, Busy, for seeing not only the children of Malawi but also a mother in need too. Your heart is making real impact.”
In a statement, Kids Foundation expressed gratitude for what described as a generous donation.
Reads the statement in part in part: “This incredible act of kindness is bringing hope, joy and encouragement to the lives of our 98 orphaned and vulnerable children. Your support will help provide essential needs and remind these children that they are loved, valued and remembered.
“Your generosity is not only changing lives today but also helping to build a brighter future for the children under our care. We are trulu humbled to stand with us in our mission.”
