Martin Tsokalambuzi, a 32-year-old farmer from Salima, has made a name for himself in the duck farming industry.
Starting with a small venture in 2022, Tsokalambuzi has grown his business to impressive levels.
Today, he boasts a flock of over 500 ducks, selling both live birds and ready-to-eat products across Malawi.
According to Tsokalambuzi his success can be attributed to his dedication and hard work. He has employed two people to help him manage his farm and plans to hire more staff as his business continues to expand.
With a growing demand for duck meat products, Tsokalambuzi is optimistic about the future of his venture.
“Starting this business wasn’t easy, but with hard work and determination, I have been able to grow my flock and expand my customer base. I’m excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead,” explained Tsokalambuzi.
The entrepreneur’s products have gained popularity across Malawi, with customers appreciating the quality of his duck meat.
Tsokalambuzi’s farm has become a significant contributor to the local poultry industry.
As Tsokalambuzi looks to the future, he plans to diversify his products and explore new markets.
He is set to start producing duck meat products, which will further increase the value of his business.
With his sights set on continued growth and expansion.
“My plan is to produce duck meat products, which will add value to my business and create more jobs for the youth. I’m confident that with the right support, Malawi’s agricultural sector can thrive, and I’m proud to be part of it,” he said.
Apart from rearing ducks, Tsokalambuzi also makes his own feed and teaches those are interested in duck farming to start recognising duck farming as a profitable business.
Eneah Yakobe, who was trained by Tsokalambuzi, has described him as an eye opener as it has provided a platform for them to learn valuable skills in duck farming and management.
“I was fortunate to be trained by Martin Tsokalambuzi on duck farming and management. The skills I gained have enabled me to start my own small-scale duck farming project.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from Martin and appreciate the impact his business has had on my life and the lives of others in our community,” explained Yakobe
