Bullets Player Set for Qatar Club Move

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets captain Llyoid Benega Aaron is set to become the most expensive player in the history of Malawi with a prospective move to Qatar Muaither Sports Club.

When news broke out on Monday, Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga was not forthcoming to delve into the details of the move, saying: “The club will issue a statement when something substantive comes up. At the moment, there are few clubs showing interest to sign him.”

Hours later, the club issued a statement confirming the move that they have reached an agreement with the club.

“FCB Nyasa Big Bullets can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Qatari side Muaither Sports Club for the transfer of our club captain Lloyd Aaron. The club would like to express our gratitude to Lloyd for his professionalism, dedication and contribution during his time at FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. We wish him the very best as he begins the new chapter in Qatar.”

According to the information sourced from the club, he joined the People’s Team at the start of the 2024 season from Civil Service United and has since made 54 appearances in all competitions, scoring one and providing six assists.

“Deployed in a deep midfield role, the 23-year-old became a vital part of our structure, shielding the backline with discipline and composure. His presence in the middle of the park, was marked by consistency, leadership and tactical awareness,” reads the statement further.

Aaron capped his historic move after leading the team to Airtel Top 8 triumph after beating Silver Strikers in dramatic post-match penalties.

Although, Bullets did not disclose the transfer fee, the player is reported to have been pegged at K192 million.

He is also a success story of Mpira M’mudzi Mwathu, a sports development non-profit making organisation founded by Football Association of Malawi Executive Member Chimango Munthali.
