Ashraful Aid International Humanitarian Organisation has donated 117 blankets to Courageous Kids Foundation, a facility that cares for orphaned and vulnerable children, to help keep them warm during the cold season.
The donation, delivered to the foundation’s office in Mpemba, Blantyre, comes at a time the city experienced one of the cold winters in years.
Abdullah Panjwani, Executive Director of Ashraful Aid Malawi, said the gesture was aimed at providing comfort and warmth to the children during the chilly season.
“We wanted to take advantage of the cold weather to warm the bodies, hearts and souls of as many people as possible,” said Panjwani.
He also pledged continued support to the foundation, noting that more empowerment and support projects would be introduced in future.
Courageous Kids Foundation, currently houses 98 children, including 43 girls and 55 boys, with 13 of them pursuing higher education.
Founder and Executive Director Courageous Musasa expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely donation.
“We are very happy because we desperately needed the blankets, and it is very cold here in Mpemba,” said Musasa.
This is not the first time Ashraful Aid International has supported Courageous Kids Foundation.
Earlier this year, in February, the organisation donated food items to help address feeding challenges, demonstrating a continued commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children in Blantyre.
