At-least four teams are set for an epic semi-final showdown of the UEFA Women’s Champions League with the first Leg to be played from 20 to 21 April.
The four teams include Malawian player Tabitha Chawinga’s French Women’s top outfit Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Olympique Lyonnais Feminine, Barcelona and Chelsea Women’s football club.
Meanwhile, soccer fans in the country and fellow Africans will be eager to watch Malawi Women’s National Football team striker Tabitha Chawinga as her team PSG face Lyonnais Women’s football club on Saturday April 20, 2024.
Another thrilling semi-final encounter will be played on Sunday, 21 April, 2024 between Barcelona and Chelsea Women’s FC before concluding with the second leg of the semi-final ties on 27 April and 28 April.
The final is set for May 5, 2024 where two semi-finals winners will battle it out for the championship.
To reach the semi-finals, PSG had a 3-0 victory over BK Hacken and won the match 5-1 on aggregate and Lyonnais defeated Benifica Women’s FC 4-1 and won the game 6-2 on aggregate.
However, Barcelona outplayed SK Brann women FC 3-1 (5-2 on aggregate) whereas Chelsea Women’s Football Club edged out Ajax Women’s FC 4-1 on aggregate to advance into the UEFA semi-finals after 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
