Minister of Tourism Dr. Vera Kamtukule has encouraged young people to explore business opportunities in the tourism industry, noting that some ventures require minimal startup capital.
Speaking in Blantyre, Kamtukule emphasised the importance of innovative ideas in generating revenue.
“To start a business in the tourism industry, all you need is an idea, not money. Ideas are the ones that make money. Use your energy and ability to innovate, to create things to fill in the gaps within the tourism sector,” she said.
The Minister pledged her ministry’s support to young enterpreneurs facing challenges.
Frank Chisambiro, a software developer, shared his success story, highlighting the value of acquiring practical skills.
“I don’t have a degree, but I work at M-Technologies as a Software Developer where I’m comfortably paid because I have the skills,” Chisambiro said.
He emphasised the importance of being intentional and focused on one’s vision, inspiring others with his experience working with celebrities such as Onesimus.
