KABHOD Plus Ltd, a Lilongwe-based agricultural company, is making strides in the industry under the leadership of its founder, Madalitso Nkosi.
Nkosi, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Development Economics from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 2019, worked as an intern at Lilongwe District Council before venturing into entrepreneurship.
According to Nkosi, his journey into agriculture was inspired by his childhood dream and experiences gained from his mother, a retired agriculture extension officer.
He started Kabhod Plus Ltd with an initial capital of K80,000, which he used to set up an incubator and start a Mikolongwe project.
The company has since diversified into various agricultural products and services, including poultry feed, quail products, Mikolongwe products, organic fertiliser, egg incubation services and poultry consultancy. Kabhod Plus Ltd operates from three sites in Lilongwe; Area 18A, Area 49, and Chitipi.
“I want to be one of the key players within the agriculture sector, using my business as a model for transformative agricultural development,” explained Nkosi.
Nkosi’s business has created employment opportunities for three permanent and five temporary employees. His goal is to contribute to Africa’s food security, create more job opportunities and improve nutrition and wellbeing in Malawi and beyond.
Mzimba-based agricultural expert Peter Mwitha has hailed Nkosis Kabhod Ltd for its wonderful job they are doing in agricultural industry.
