Kasungu District Hospital has received a substantial donation of medical supplies valued at K8 million from Friends of Kasungu, a charitable group based in the United Kingdom.
The donated items include walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and cushions, with 18 wheelchairs among the notable contributions aimed at improving patient mobility and enhancing the hospital’s service delivery.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the group’s representative Dr. Emmie Malewezi, emphasised the group’s commitment to supporting the hospital.
“We have donated these items to improve the hospital’s services, and we are very committed to supporting the facility,” said Dr. Malewezi.
Director of Health and Social Services for Kasungu, Dr. Emmanuel Golombe, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying it is a significant boost to the hospital’s capacity to care for patients.
He also appealed to other well-wishers and organisations to emulate the gesture shown by Friends of Kasungu.
