FCB Nyasa Bullets to face MAFCO in FBH Bank cup war

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face Mafco FC in the final of the FDH Cup next month after defeating Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC 5-1 in the semi-finals on Sunday at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Collins Okumu, Hassan Kajoke and MacFaren Mgwira scored one goal each while Anthony Mfune scored two a brace.

Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC pulled back one goal in the 86th minute through Gift Magola.

Meanwhile, Mafco FC secured a spot for the 2023 FDH Cup final after beating Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC 1-0 at the Bingu National Stadium last week.

Flames on-and-off defender Paul Ndhlovu scored for the Salima-based soldiers.

After the game, FCB Nyasa Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa said despite their triumph they did not play as a team.

‘’We need to do our homework before meeting Mafco FC in order to defend our title because they are also a good side,” he said.

On his part, coach for Dedza Dynamos Gilbert Chirwa expressed his disappointment at his team’s embarrassing defeat to the Blantyre based giants while congratulating his opponent for reaching the finals.

He said: “If you concede early in the game then it’s not easy especially against a team such as Bullets which was in superb form in the second half. We thought we were going to do better today but I think our boys lost concentration.

“That is why we have conceded more goals. There are so many areas which we need to look into when we go back to our drawing board and see how best we can progress in the TNM league after our road to the finals of the FDH Cup ended.’’
