Malawian goalshooter Joyce Mvula put up a splendid performance to insipire her team Leeds Rhinos to their second victory of the season in the UK Vitality Netball Superleague.
Rhinos beat Cardiff Dragons 52-59 as the Malawian former Blue Eagles shooter emerged the Player of the Match in a match they dominated from the start.
In the first quarter, Rhinos shook off Dragons’ early scare to take the lead 12-17 which was extended to 28-33 at half time recess.
The third quarter saw Mvula’s team taking charge as they opened a 10-goal lead at 41-51 going to the finals.
Reads a report in part from Rhinos website: “Rhinos continued to sink the one pointer as they maintained a steady 10-goal lead. Multiple missed shots for Dragons gave Rhinos the possession in the final minute of the game with the final whistle going in favour of Leeds Rhinos, winning against Cardiff Dragons.”
Mvula’s performance did not go unnoticed as the club and fans took it to the social medial congratulation her on outstanding match.

Netball fan Julie wrote: “Queen of the court tonight . Outstanding performance. You did your job and then some Joyce.”

The Rhinos are sixth with seven points from six matches, two wins and one loss, while Cardiff Dragons anchor the eight-team league with no point from five matches.
London Pulse lead the league with 16 points from six matches with a perfect record while Mvula’s former Manchester Thunder trail on second position with 13 points. Lightening are third with 13 points Mavericks fourth Forest lie fifth with seven points and Birmingham Panthers are seventh with five points from
five matches having won won and lost four.
