Five visionary students from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) have emerged as the newest millionaires in town, following a groundbreaking business proposal competition organized by FDH Bank.
The grand finale, held at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre on 23 November 2024, saw the innovative ideas of these students rewarded with life-changing prizes.
Out of 32 initial applicants, only 20 groups advanced to the September semi-finals.
From there, 8 groups were shortlisted for the final stage, and 5 stood victorious.
Isaiah Anderson’s Threads and Prints bagged K80 million, while Afric Steel Creations topped the competition with K120 million.
Other winners included Mphuzitsi App, Eco Harvest Farms, and Green Gold Enterprise, receiving K60million and K50 million in that order.
Isaiah Anderson praised FDH Bank for empowering young entrepreneurs, encouraging his peers to participate in the next competition.
“This is a platform to turn ideas into reality and secure capital for businesses,” he said, inspiring the next wave of innovative minds at MUBAS.
The success of these students underscores the transformative potential of determination and creativity, proving that great ideas can lead to remarkable achievements.
