A philanthropist Francis Bingalason has donated a chicken incubator to poultry farmers in Ntcheu aimed at empowering them economically.
He made the presentation to serve the communities in the areas of Traditional Authority Phambala and Sub-Traditional Authority Tsikulamowa in the district.
Bingalason told ProjectM that he noted that poultry farmers were not benefiting enough through chicken hatching as chickens’ seat on a smaller number of eggs at a time.
He disclosed that the incubator will be hatching 920 fertilized eggs in a space of twenty-one days.
“This equipment is going to benefit poultry farmers from 24 Group Village Headmen from the duo areas of Traditional Authorities,” he said.
Group Village Headman Matcheleza has thanked Bingalason for the donation which he said will revamp poultry farming.
He said the machine is going to assist hatching more eggs which normally chickens cannot be able to hatch.
“Do not miss this golden opportunity as the machine is at our doorstep,” said the traditional leader.
A resident from the area, Elizabeth Diva concurs with the traditional leader saying the tool is their property in the area which demands to be cared for.
“There is a need for the communities to take charge of the incubator for it to serve us accordingly,” she said.
