Malawi has been drawn into Group A alongside defending championship Senegal, Mozambique and Mauritania in the sixth stage of CAF Beach Soccer.
CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations kick starts tomorrow in Hirghada, Egypt.
Eight nations are eyeing for the cup and Malawi will begin with a clash against neighbouring Mozambique on Sunday.
On Monday, team Malawi will face defending champions Senegal before wrapping up with a match against Mauritania on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Head Coach for Malawi Beach Soccer, Willy Kumilambe said he was confident that his team would do well.
“We a had a 10-day training session and we are prepared for the tournament. We made sure to tackle all the gaps that were there have been filled,” he said.
The top performers will advance to the semi-finals and the finalists will secure a place at Africa’s first FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup scheduled in 2025 at Seychelles.
Through this cup, 3 Africans countries will represent Africa.
