MALAWI U-19 CRICKET TEAM TO FACE LESOTHO IN FINAL

The Malawi Under-19 Cricket Team has closed in on qualification for the Division 2 tournament in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Sub-regional qualifiers.

This follows their victory against Botswana in a match that earned team Malawi 2 points.

On Friday, the team played against E-Swatini beating by six wickets from Eva Kabwere.

Team Malawi also defeated Sierra Leone by 8 wickets with Mercy Dimba crowned as Player of Match.

In their third match, Malawi emerged victorious having beaten Mozambique by 10 wickets with Lucy Malino voted as Player of the Match.

This outstanding performance has placed Malawi on the first position with eight points out of four games played.

Malawi will face Lesotho, should they qualify they advance to the Division 2 tournament where they will face teams such as Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe in the tournament scheduled for September 23 to 29 this year.

Meanwhile, Eva Kabwere has most wickets, Mercy Kudimba most runs.
