MACRA INITIATES ICT LAB PROJECT AT CDSS IN CHIKWAWA

Education authorities at Mkumaniza Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Senior Chief Ngabu in Chikwawa say the Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory will equip students with the world’s modern technologies.

Deputy Headteacher for the institution Timothy Kanyemba said the school has been waiting for an ICT laboratory.

He said the Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is establishing the laboratories in some secondary schools in the country which has not spared our school.

Kanyemba told ProjectM that ICT labs are in line with the Malawi Government 2063 Agenda that will make communication much easier.

“We already received 300 bags of cement, rolls of mesh wire, wheelbarrows, shovels just to name but a few,” he said

The Deputy Headteacher is urging the communities around the school to support the ICT lab project, saying it will not only benefit the students but also the communities.

A Form Four student Monica Sandikonda expressed bemoaned that the ICT laboratory is coming at the time she is in the last year.

She said that she has missed a golden opportunity of learning computers.

“I do not know anything about computers and this could be to my advantage,” she said.

The form four student was quick to advise her friends to make use of this chance of learning computer studies.
