ZOMBA CITY TO HOST INNOVATORS CONFERENCE

Zomba City will next month host an innovators conference targeting young innovators from the city.

The conference will, among others, give an opportunity to innovators to display their problem solving skills and share their innovative ideas within the subjects of information technology and entrepreneurship.

Lead organiser of the conference Stuard Nankhumwa told ProjectM in an interview that innovators from Zomba district are welcome to showcase their skills.

“The purpose of the event is for young innovators to inspire one another, recognise and support young talent with innovative ideas that have the potential to bring about positive change in Malawi,” said Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa has indicated that so far, 24 innovators have shown willingness to attend the event.

“We have so far received positive responses from some innovators who are ready to support the event,” Nankhumwa added.

A 21-year-old Cellina Jubeki, an innovator credited with developing an automated heater system used in several greenhouses in Malawi, has since confirmed her participation.

Meanwhile, Nankhumwa has indicated that a specific date for the event will be announced soon.
