In a country where fashion designing has long been overlooked as a viable career path, Hilda Gadaga, an entrepreneur and a renowned fashion designer, is breaking the mold.
Gadaga is making a name for herself in Malawi’s fashion industry after she successfully opened a company called H Clothing.
She has indicated that her passion for designing begun at a young age and she always dreamed of turning her hobby into a career.
“I have always wanted to turn this hobby into a full time career even though a lot of people used to undermine my dream,” Gadaga said.
She said after years of honing her skills and building her confidence, she finally took the giant leap and launched her own fashion label.
“H Clothing company is somehow my vision and finally establishing this enterprise means a lot to me,” said Gadaga.
Through H Clothing, Gadaga is releasing trendy and stylish men’s and women’s clothing that is quickly gaining popularity in Malawi.
“My designs are a mixture of traditional and modern styles, reflecting my own unique perspective and creativity,” She added.
Gadaga’s vision is to see H Clothing consolidate it’s customer base both locally and internationally.
Lilongwe-based fashion enthusiast, Faith Kafera-Banda has described Gadaga’s brands as unique.
“With her talent, drive and determination, Hilda is poised to become a leading figure in Malawi’s fashion scene,” said Kafera-Banda.
