The Word Alive Ministries International ( WAMI) has distributed farm inputs at a tune of K100 million to 1500 families who were displaced from Makhanga Island to upper lands in Nsanje.

Director of Relief and Development for WAMI, Petrous Abbas made the distribution on Monday at three sites in the district.

He said early this year WAMI donated assorted things to the displaced to the communities.

Abbas told ProjectM that during the last distribution the families asked for farm inputs for them to plant in the winter season.

“Each family has received 5 kilograms of maize seeds, a packet of okra, a packet of bonongwe and 15 bundles of sweet potatoes,” he said.

A beneficiary Zione Banda thanked WAMI for responding to their request for the farm inputs which they are going to plant in winter.

She said the maize seeds is going to be giving them more harvest than what they have received.

“Okra and bonongwe will be our source of income in a short period,” Banda said adding that relish will not be a problem.

The distribution exercise took place at Group Village Headwoman Kalonga, Bangula Admarc and WAMI Church all in the area of Traditional Authority Mbenje in Nsanje.
