UK-BASED NURSE DONATES MATTRESSES TO HEALTH CENTRE IN NSANJE

The United Kingdom-based psychiatric nurse Jasinta Khamfula Moto has donate 10 mattresses to Tengani Health Centre in Nsanje District.

Moto who is sister to the late Simon Khamfula, who once served as parliamentarian for Nsanje Central Constituency, said she feels pathetic with the situation at Tengani Health Centre which is still lacking some essential things.

She told ProjectM that while in the United Kingdom her employer gave her some mattresses which she decided to donate to the health facility.

“I am doing this for charitable work and I have no political ambitions behind this donation,” she said.

Receiving the donation, Senior Nursing Officer for Nsanje District Hospital, Maclean Changadeya has thanked Moto for the gesture.

He said the mattresses will make a big difference at the facility.

“Let others emulate the gesture set up by Moto in assisting her own relations,” he said.

Tengani Health Centre serves over 15,000 population which includes Mozambican nationals.
