The Triephornia Thomson Mpinganjira Foundation has stepped up its charitable initiatives in Malawi by donating five sewing machines to a local entrepreneur, Funny Matchindu, at Chadzunda Market in Blantyre.
Matchindu, a tailor, expressed gratitude and surprise upon receiving the machines. “This support will boost my business and transforming my financial life more than ever before,” she said.
Foundation representative Wezi Chiweta said Matchindu’s request was carefully considered before being granted.
“This is the first initiative we are rolling out this year. Our goal is to support more women and youth engaged in handcrafts and small-scale businesses so their lives can improve economically,” Chiweta stated.
The foundation plans to extend its reach to empower more communities across the country through similar initiatives.
