The Technical Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) and the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), have signed a memorandum of understanding, for a record economic growth and sustainable development.
Speaking during the MOU signing ceremony, held in the Capital Lilongwe, TEVETA’s Executive Director Elwin Chiwembu Sichola said that the partnership is a game changer, ensuring that the two institutions collaborate in identifying developing and growing innovations, build capacity of technical teachers and implementing projects that are central to the country’s 2063 transformation Agenda.
Sichola reaffirmed that the signing of the MOU marks a significant milestone, outlining a comprehensive framework for investment cooperation in technological advancement for the state’s social economic growth.
He said:“we are partners in purpose, united in our commitment to share a common goal to achieve efficiency and excellent. We are forging stronger ties with our colleagues from the University to ensure that as the World is advancing technologically, Malawi should produce a plethora of skilled innovative workforce levels to match this advancement.”
This programme with MUST will help create a positive work culture that fosters collaboration and innovations, marking a significant milestone in upgrading technical teachers to build a new crop of a skilled, competent workforce and service professionals which can rapidly help to achieve the state’s economy and National development.
MUST Vice Chancellor, Professor Address Malata said the Institution is committed to staying engaged with TEVETA in providing the right skills for human capital development and enabling entrepreneurship and wealth creation for the country.
Malata added that the agreement marks a new phase of a strategic collaboration between the two, saying it embodies their collective aspiration to accelerate technological innovation and individuals to accrue a record steady growth and build resilience.
The MOU was also graced by board members of the two institutions including Hyacinth Chikaonda from Teveta and Ruth Masangano from MUST, as a way of signifying their unequivocal support and nod of approval.
