Secondary school teacher Hudson Kelvin Gareta has authored a book which seeks to transform the leadership landscape of Malawi’s secondary schools.
Titled “The Pursuit of Sound Leadership and Management: A case of the quest for Excellence Through Shared Vision of Malawi Secondary Schools”, the book seeks to equip leaders with knowledge and skills necessary to effectively run institutions.
Gareta said the book has been authored in response to the numerous challenges affecting secondary education in Malawi.
“By sharing my expertise and insights, my aim is to eliminate obstacles and pave the way for excellence in the country’s secondary schools,” he said.
What sets the book apart is its focus on empowering leaders to excel in Malawi’s pursuit of the much-touted agenda 2063.
“This book provides deeper knowledge on leadership and management, ensuring that readers are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of institutional leadership,” said Gareta.
The book has 156 pages which is being sold at MWK40,000 and is currently available in selected bookshops across the country, making it accessible to educators, leaders and concerned stakeholders interested in enhancing the quality of secondary education in Malawi.
Lilongwe-based author and educator, Rabson Woodwell-Banda has hailed Gareta for authoring what he has described as a game-changing book.
“Through this book, Gareta will definitely inspire a new generation of leaders who can drive positive change in the education sector,” said Banda.
