The Malawi government has reappointed University of Malawi law lecturer Dr Sunduzwayo Madise to serve for Malawi National Council of Sports Board chairperson for the third time.
He was retained alongside Charles Ulaya Banda as Vice-Chairperson, Susan Namangale, Alufeyo Peter Chipanga Banda and Chigomezgo Kimberly Nyasulu.
But there was no place for former netball coach and adminstrator Hellen Tasosa, Gladson Kuyeri, Thoko Chimbali, football legend Young Chimodzi and journalist Chisomo Mwamadi.
Other new members comprises seasoned marketer Levi Nkunika, Proud Chalira, Thumbiko Kamungawatema Mhango and females Martha Yoshi Katangwe, Dabwitsa Hara and Chigomezgo Kimberly Nyasulu.
Others are secretary for Youth and Sports, Secretary to Treasury and Comptroller of Statutory Corporations as ex-officio members.
Namangale, took it to the social media, saying: “Congratulations my chairman Sunduzwayo Madise and vice chairman Charles Ulaya Banda and fellow Director Chigomezgo Nyasulu and Alufeyo Chipanga. Thank you HE for reappointing me as one of the directors for MNCS. Ntchito tigwila modzipeleka. We will work hard.”
Football Association of Malawi also hailed the appointment of the new board members.
“Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members of the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS). Wishing you all the best as you take on this important role in shaping and developing sports policy in our nation,” Haiya posted on his Facebook Page.
