The Seventh-Day Adventist Dorcas Women in Chikwawa have cheered patients admitted to Chikwawa District Hospital.
During the visit, they also donated assorted items to the children in the wards.
Leader of the women, Euster Nkhungulu said they decided to visit the sick who are always lonely at the hospital.
She told ProjectM that the Dorcas women contributed K500,000 which they used to buy items they presented to the patients.
“We have given out gifts such as soap, salt, sugar, soya pieces and flour to children in the wards valued at K500,000,” she said.
In her remarks, a Nurse and Midwifery at the facility, Nyson Sekani hailed the Dorcas women for the gifts they gave the patients.
He said the gifts have brought happiness to the patients spiritually and physically.
Sekani also said some patients lacked such necessities but with what they have received it will help them for some days.
According to the nurse at the facility during the eve of Saturday 18th May, 2024 a total of 19 children were born at the district hospital.
One of the patients Janet Dickson said she was happy with the Women group’s visit.
