SCREEN PRINTING EARNS GRADUATE K1M MONTHLY

A 24-year-old graduate Breaker Arnido screen printing enterpreurship has transformed his life and that of family members.

The Blantyre-based from Manase Township graduated from National College of Information Technology with Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology

He said after completing his education he thought of venturing into entrepreneurship.

Breaker has told ProjectM that through screen printing services he earns at least K1 million per month.

The young innovator added: “One day, I wanted to do a fantastic gift for my mother on Mother’s Day. I was motivated when I saw someone who was printing customised mugs with pictures and that is why I ventured into this project after learning more online through You Tube.”

He said he then established his company called ARNIDORMW and started providing screen printing services such as customised and personalised mugs.

Apart from this, he is also printing key holders, picture frames, wine glasses and drinking bottles.

“Our products are very unique and can be washed and be used for many years because they are made from ceramic materials which are safe for hot and cold beverages. The items can also be printed with your preferred images, logo and many more,’’ he said.

On job creation, the young man said currently he is working with his brother but has promised to recruit more workforce in the next few years as he takes his business to new heights.

In terms of marketing, he said that he is advertising through online platforms such as Facebook to reach out to his customers.

He said Illovo Sugar Malaw, National Bank of Malawi (NBM), Blantyre Water Board, as some of his big customers.

While emphasising on the need for thorough study and institutional learning he said in today’s world of technology, skill acquisition is paramount to everyone particularly the youth.

He said: “It is imperative for young people in the country to be proactive, engaging and passionate in order to progress and move forward. White-collar jobs are no longer a norm nowadays. It is about adaptability, creativity and innovation.”
