ProjectM relief support in Mpingwe

ProjectM joins other humanitarian groups in relief support to Cyclone Freddy survivors in Mpingwe, Blantyre on Saturday, 18 March 2023.

ProjectM donated items like, soap, bags of maize flour, clothes, jiggies and kamba puffs to each family.

Speaking with Evelina Antonio who is one of the breastfeeding mothers at the camp said that, they are experiencing different hardships and has asked well wishers to help them with food, clothes, and blankets.

The affected area is known as Mzedi ward which consists of the three areas that have been greatly affected namely; Kalakani, Nkhukuteni and Kandaya.

Chrissy Govati and Mrs Chilemba who are coordinating at Mpingwe camp are also asking well wishers to help the survivors with food, kitchen utensils and other things.

Mpingwe camp has 713 survivors of which 9 are breastfeeding mother’s and 60 are children.
