Project Chess Zambia has invited former Chess Association of Malawi (Chessam) president Susan Namangale to deliver a motivation talk during the Fourth Flowers Crossboarder Challenge Schools Tournament.
In an interview, she said the competition will involve schools from Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Namangale said it was an honour not only for her but also Malawi.
She said: ” I will be guest speaker at the Fourth Flowers Cross boarder chess challenge in Livingstone tomorrow (today) and will be addressing students from Zimbabwe and Zambia schools participating in the event.
“I have been invited by Project Chess Zambia as guest speaker as Zone 4.5 president. Being invited to grace the event shows they trust and appreciate my leadership.”
Namangale also said she would take advantage to meet the sponsor of the event JC Flowers Foundation to appreciate their support to chess.
A statement from the organisers of the tournament said they wanted her to inspire the students and hold meetings with the sponsors.
On his part Dadaz Chess Academy trainer Stanford Chiwambo said her trip would also help the academy.
“She has been invited in her capacity as Zone 4.5 president but Dadaz Academy also expects to benefit because we have a partnership with Project Chess Zambia,” he said.
