Press Energy Limited golf team won the first-ever Press Corporation (PLC) Invitation Golf Tournament held at Blantyre Sports Club on Saturday.
The team, made up of Chimwemwe Mtimajere, Paul Lawrence and Nchane Nkwazi, scored a total of 88 points to claim the top prize of K4 million. Puma 1 finished in second place and walked away with K3 million, while Macsteel came third, earning a prize of K2 million.
The tournament attracted a total of 21 teams and brought together top business leaders from different companies to enjoy a day of sport, fun and networking.
In the individual categories, Innocent Tumeo won the longest drive award for men, while Ulemu Luhanga was the winner in the ladies’ category. James Chimwaza and Sophie Mlumbe won the nearest-to-pin awards for men and women, respectively.
Press Corporation Chief Executive Officer Ronald Mangani expressed happiness with the event, saying it was a great opportunity for captains of industry to relax, compete, and share business ideas in a fun and unique environment.
