Preparations are at an advanced stage for the 2024 Khulubvi Arts and Cultural Festival (KACF) third anniversary of the festival this month-end in the district in Nsanje.
KACF Coordinator, Eric Trinta said the event will take place at Nsanje Prison ground.
Speaking to ProjectM he said the event will also draw participants from Mozambique.
“The focus of this year is to build good relationships between the investors and the local communities,” he said.
Trininta said there has been disagreement between the parties which has seen the communities’ destroying the cultural centre’s facilities because of poor relationship.
He said he has already taken to task the district leadership, saying the council has a duty to play in the Khulubvi Arts and Cultural by involving the chiefs, members of parliament and councillors.
“Traditional leaders are the custodians of people and all culture; hence, their involvement in the KACF is paramount,” he said.
The coordinator said that this year’s festival will run for three days from 28th to 30th June, 2024.
Last month, KACF held a memorial music show at Bangula Trading Centre for fallen artists in Nsanje and Chikwawa, namely Katelele Ching’oma, Joseph Tembo, Grace Chinga, DJ Sautso Ndalama and Hollyman Nyantawa.
This year’s festival will be held under the theme,” Shire Valley Time to Shine and Lets Empower People.”
