POLICE WOMEN NETWORK DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL UNIFORM WORTH MWK875,000

Mulanje Police Women Network has distributed school uniform to under-privileged learners valued at K875,000 in the district.

Team leader Assistant Commissioner of Police Violet Kamwendo said the women raised the money from the mock shower wedding the women in uniform organised last year.

Speaking to ProjectM, Kamwendo said they decided to use the money to buy school uniforms and other learning materials to the needy learners.

“I am thankful for the women police officers of Mulanje Police Station for what they have done,” she said.

Earlier, Luchenza Police Station Officer-In-Charge, Senior Superintendent Florida Dzimbiri thanked the women network for the gesture.

She has encouraged the learners to work hard in school for a better future.

Dzimbiri has challenged the women in uniform to put much efforts in the fight against any form of child abuse whenever such reports are received.

Chikanda Primary School Headteacher Luke Chilomo has hailed the officers for bailing out the learners who had no uniform.

He said the uniforms are going to motivate them to work hard.

“We are very gratitude for the suppoort you have given to the learners,” said the headteacher.

The school uniforms were given to the needy learners of Chikanda, Dzenje and Nanyole Primary Schools.
