In movement to empower adolescent girls, the Girls Empowerment Network (GENET) has donated 120 bicycles to young female peer educators across Mulanje District.
For years, educators like Esther Luwembe of Kumwamba Village braved long, tiresome walks to reach fellow girls with life-saving information on sexual and reproductive health.
Now, thanks to the bicycles distributed through World Vision with Global Fund support, Esther and many others can reach farther and impact more lives.
“This bicycle is more than just transport. It’s a bridge to opportunity to reach out to others who saw no means,” said Esther.
GENET’s District Coordinator Patricia Nyirenda said the initiative would not only ease mobility challenges but also boost the educators’ outreach.
Senior Chief Mabuka hailed the donation as a “timely intervention” that will help curb early pregnancies and infections, signaling a brighter future for the youth of Mulanje.
