Organisation Set to Open Innovation Space for Lilongwe Youths

In a quest to empower youths and unlock their full potential, a Lilongwe-based youth oriented organisation, Youth Action For Success and Development (YASD) is set to launch an innovation space.

The cutting-edge facility will provide a safe and conducive environment where youths can showcase their talents, explore new ideas and bring their innovative projects to life.

YASD founder and executive director, Edward Chidombe Msiska has told ProjectM in an interview that the innovation space will be a game-changer for youths in Lilongwe.

“As YASD, we are excited to provide a platform where youths can thrive in innovation because our goal is to create a vibrant ecosystem that fosters creativity, entreprenuership and social impact,” said Msiska.

The innovation space project has since received a boost from the IM Swedish Development Partner Southern Africa, which has donated assorted items to support its smooth implementation.

“This generous contribution will us equip the innovation space with the necessary tools and resources to support the creative endeavours of youths,” said Msiska.

The innovative space project follows a successful launch of another empowering project called Local Green Innovation Project (LOGIC), which trained 160 youths and women from Lilongwe and Dedza districts in green innovations.

“And the coming in of this project, our organisation is poised to take it’s mission to the next level,” he added.

According to Msiska, by providing a supportive environment and access to resources, YASD aims to inspire a new generation of innovators, entreprenuers and change-markers.

Meanwhile, Lilongwe based entreprenuer Monica Mlozi has expressed delight with the coming in of the project.

“I am eagerly waiting for this opportunity because I know that I will be given space to explore further my creative skills and turn my ideas into reality,” said Mlozi.
