ORGANISATION BAILS OUT PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSON

Mupacho Initiative, a charity organisation, has donated a battery and an inverter to a Blantyre-based physically challenged talented man Louis Msomba.

He has been given the items to help boost his phone repair business, which is his only source of income.

Mupacho Initiative executive director Chris Loka has told ProjectM in an interview that the organisation decided to bail out Msomba after noticing his entrepreneurship spirit.

“Being a physically challenged person, Msomba has really defied the odds by learning phone repair skills, a skill most able bodied people cannot manage and we felt compelled to help,” he said.

Though he could not disclose the value of the donated items, Loka was quick to thank well-wishers who took part to buy the items.

“God bless everyone who donated his or her money towards the initiative,” he said.

On his part, Msomba, who can neither walk nor sit down due to his disability, thanked the Mupacho Initiative, saying the donation will go a long way towards boosting his finances.

“My house does not have electricity and I believe the coming in of these gadgets will help me a lot,” said Msomba.

Msomba has since implored other well-wishers to emulate what Mupacho Initiative has done

.Meanwhile, the Federation of Disability Organisations in Malawi (FEDOMA), through its Lilongwe chapter Chairperson Charles Kamkosi Banda has thanked the Mupacho Initiative for empowering Msomba.

“As FEDOMA, this is what we normally advocate for, we love donations that are empowering to an individual,” he said.
