NYAMADZERE WINS QUIZ COMPETITION

Nyamadzere Model Primary School are the first term champions for the Nyamadzere Education Zone after beating seven other primary schools in the eight-week Quizz Competition in the district.

The Executive Director for Nyamithambo Arts Palace (NAP) Eric Trinta the main sponsor of the competition said the aim behind the initiative is the promote and improve quality of education in the zone.

He said hailed the hosting school Nyamadzere Model Primary School for emerging the winner of the competition.

Trinta told ProjectM appealed to the communities to support the initiative.

The Executive Director has since urged other well-wishers to join hands in the promotion of quality education in the zone and the district as whole.

“I am promising to continue supporting the initiative initiative so that the zone produces best results,” he said.

On this point, Trinta hailed the Chibuku Product Limited for the support it gave to the participating learners during the competition.

Coordinating Primary Education Advisor (CPEA) for Nsanje, MacKnowledge Maganizo said the quizz competition is going to help in the promotion of learners performance in the national examinations.

He revealed that the pass rate to the national secondary schools requires higher marks that is from 90% above.

“It is our expectation that the quizz competition will bear fruits this year,” he said.

However, Maganizo said due to financial challenges the it has made it difficult to spread across the district in the remaining 12 Education Zones.

Nyamadzere Model Primary School emerged the winner with 137 points followed by Nsanje Catholic Primary School with 136 points while Kapalakonje Primary School came third with 99 points.

Dave Amos from Nsanje Catholic Primary School was named as the outstanding learner in the competition with 56 points.

Meanwhile, participating schools were given prizes, including wall clocks, buckets, soap, exercise books.
