Farmers in the country will have a choice when it comes to fertilizer options following the launch of an organic fertilizer called Magic Soil.
The new fertilizer is a being produced by Magic Soil Biofertilizer Company, a company owned by several Malawian entreprenuers.
The company’s lead production officer, Twambilire Ghambi has told ProjectM in an interview that Magic Soil is a game-changer in the farming sector, touting it as the future of organic fertilizers.
Ghambi said the product contains a unique blend of nutrients, including Bio-slurry from Bio-digester systems as well as all essential macro and micro elements required for plant growth and fruit production.
“What sets Magic Soil Fertilizer apart from other fertilizers is its ability to nourish both the plant and the soil simultaneously,” Ghambi said.
He said this makes it an ideal choice for farmers looking to transition from chemical fertilizers to organic alternatives.
“For us as Malawian owned company, we see this innovation as a sustainable solution needed for local farmers to increase their yields while promoting environmental stewardship,” said Ghambi.
Magic Soil Fertilizer is currently being sold in selected agro-dealers across the country, with a 50kg bag being priced at K19,500.
Organic farming enthusiast cum environmental activist, Maloto Chimkombero has hailed the coming in of this fertilizer, saying it will help in shaping the future of farming in Malawi.
“The coming in of eco-friendly products like Magic Soil Fertilizer is ideal for our nation as we strive to balance between environmental conservation and food production,” said Chimkombero.
