NAP LAUNCHES K2 MILLION TROPHY IN NSANJE

Nyamithanbo Arts Palace (NAP) has launched the K2 million Eric Trinta Summer Trophy aiming at keeping the youths busy during holiday while developing football at the grass root level.

Managing Director for NAP, Eric Trinta made the revelations when officially launching his trophy at Dinde Primary School in Nsanje.

He observed that when schools close for summer most children engage in doing bad things which can likely put their lives in danger.

Speaking to ProjectM, Trinta said as NAP promotes arts, sporting disciplines should also be incorporated for the youths to nurture their talent.

“It is equally important for the youths to develop football and other sporting activities as their future careers,” he said.

Group Village Headman Nthukuso thanked the management for the gesture which he said is going to help to keep the youths busy.

However, the senior traditional leader has appealed to the NAP management to also consider girls in future.

“Girls are equally important like boys who too deserve equal treatment,” he said.

Nsanje District Football Committee Chairperson Kenason Jimu hailed the management for NAP for coming up with a summer trophy which he said has come at the right time.

He said the trophy will act as a nursery for the youths.

Jimu lamented that there are always challenges with the bigger teams who are lacking sponsorship for them to participate in bigger leagues in the country.

“We want well-wishers to come forward to bail out our teams so that they can play in the regional levels,” said the chairperson.
