Mzuzu Farm Committed to Empower Community

Healthy Harvest Farm and Fresh Foods, agribusiness in Mzuzu, is transforming the local horticulture industry with its commitment to sustainable farming practices and community empowerment.

Established by Donita Moyo in 2021, a medical laboratory scientist turned entrepreneur, the farm specialises in cultivating and distributing high-quality fresh produce, including tomatoes, chillies, bell peppers, lettuce, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.

With a focus on sustainability, Healthy Harvest Farm employs eco-friendly practices such as composting, crop diversity.

“We are dedicated to producing healthy and nutritious food while promoting sustainable agricultural practices and empowering our local community,” said Moyo.

Currently, the farm employs three permanent and five part-time workers, contributing to local economic development.

Healthy Harvest Farm has received business development support from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI), which has strengthened its sales strategies, improved entrepreneurial leadership, and enhanced overall business performance.

“I have been buying produce from Healthy Harvest Farm for months now, and I can confidently say that their products are always fresh, healthy, and delicious, appreciate their commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community. I will definitely continue to support them,” Said Kellita Nasoko a satisfied customer.

As the farm continues to grow, it plans to expand its financial capacity, increase operational efficiency, enhance market development.
