A a 28-year-old entrepreneur from Mzimba District Ignasio Lwanja has been making waves in Malawi’s business scene with his innovative ventures.
Lwanja, who holds a diploma in Information and Technology from Zambia ICT College, started his business in 2018.
His company specialises in printer and copier repair, stationery, and office consumables.
“I started this business out of passion and a desire to meet the high demand for reliable office supplies and ICT products in Mzuzu and surrounding areas,” he said.
Lwanja’s business has been growing steadily and he has managed to expand his operations to include a car hire business.
He currently employs five people and is looking to expand his workforce as his business continues to grow.
One of Lwanja’s long-term goals is to open more offices around Malawi.
“We want to have a presence in all major towns in Malawi,” he said.
According to Milward Tobias, Economic Expert, Lwanja’s success is a testament to the potential of young entrepreneurs in Malawi.
He said: “Young entrepreneurs like Ignasio Lwanja are the future of Malawi’s economy, they bring new ideas, energy, and innovation to the business scene.
“We need to support and encourage more young people to venture into entrepreneurship.”
Lwanja’s success has also inspired other young entrepreneurs in the region. His business has created job opportunities and contributed to the growth of the local economy.
