MCCCI APPOINTS NEW CEO

After serving for 21 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), Chancellor Kaferapanjira has paved way for Daisy Kambalame as the new CEO.

The new CEO, according to a press statement from MCCCI, has worked in various reputable institutions including, the Malawi Investment Trade Centre (MITC) as a board member and Chief Executive Officer for African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC).

Meanwhile, one of the economists from Catholic Resource Centre in Lilongwe, Kadrick Chasakaniza has expressed optimism with the appointment of Kambalame which is effective from 5 March 2024.

He said: “I understand that Kambalame holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the United Kingdom-based University and she has worked in a similar position in various high level institutions. I hope that she will utilise the opportunity to uplift the industry which is developing in the country.

Looking at her profile, let us hope for the best.’’
Chasakaniza has also applauded the outgoing CEO, Kaferapanjira for serving the Chamber at such a long term, saying he has lifted the institution in different areas that has seen Malawi being exposed internationally.

Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) is a membership-based association which represents all sectors of the economy in Malawi.
