Maroto Investments in Unique Meat Processing

Maroto Investments, a meat processing enterprise based in Mzuzu, is making waves in the industry.

Established in 2018 by Yavumba Nyasulu, Maroto Investments has carved a niche for itself in the market with its diverse product line, which includes smoked chicken, fish, pork and beef, as well as sausages, burgers and meatballs.

The company is also experimenting with Biltong (dried meat), a new addition to its product portfolio.

What sets Maroto Investments apart is its commitment to offering healthier, tastier and flavoured meat that are nutrient fortified, protein rich and low in fat content.

The company’s meat are prepared and ready to compete favourably with leading brands in Malawi.

“We are passionate about providing our customers with premium quality meat that are not only delicious but also healthy.

“We believe that our commitment to sustainability and community empowerment set us apart from other players in the industry.”

According to Grace Moyo, a regular customer of Maroto Investments, the company’s products are above the line.

“I have been buying Maroto’s smoked chicken and sausages for months now, and I can confidently say that they are the best I haveever tasted,the fact that they are made with healthy ingredients,” she said.

Maroto Investments sources 90 percent of its raw materials locally, ensuring a stable income for its suppliers.

The company also procures charcoal from licensed and authorised traders and is developing plans to train women in the community to produce briquettes from sawdust, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to charcoal.

Nyasulu together with the 7 workers plans plans to expand its market penetration through partnerships with supermarkets, hotels and the establishment of its own retail outlets across all regions of the country.

Maroto Investments also plans to build a production facility to meet increasing demand.

Despite facing challenges related to space and capacity expansion, Maroto Investments remains committed to its vision of becoming a leading player in the meat processing industry in Malawi.
