In a bold move to revolutionize the skincare industry, Sylvia Mantchombe, CEO and founder of Sidoma Investment based in Blantyre is pioneering a natural skincare movement in Malawi.
Founded in 2021, Sidoma Investments specialises in herbal skincare products using turmeric and neem, renowned for their skin health benefits, Mantchombe’s vision is to provide affordable and effective solutions for individuals struggling with skin conditions such as acne, eczema and hyperpigmentation.
“Our mission is to deliver natural, effective, and affordable skincare solutions, my company is committed to help individuals achieve healthy, glowing skin without harsh chemicals, with products that are made locally and friendly with our environment,” she said.
According to Mantchombe, their product range includes creams, oils, ointments, soaps, and scrubs, all carefully formulated to address specific skin concerns, their business prioritizes sustainability by using eco friendly ingredients and minimising packaging waste.
“Despite facing challenges such as high import costs and intense competition, but we try to keep our products to be the best on the market by branding It and putting in cartons we are focused on customer satisfaction through follow-ups and competitive monitoring,” she assured.
Through Sidoma’s growth is a testament to Mantchombe’s perseverance, plans are underway to establish a full-scale manufacturing facility, export products globally, create employment opportunities, and cultivate herbal trees for raw materials.
Said Mantchombe: “Our products are sold locally currently we use social media since many customers are from online, and I can’t lie here. I manufacture many products per week as the demand is high, talking of profits is amazing doing good for my self.
“I have also sales agents in many districts who help out, I have benefited greatly from this business, from acquiring a small machine for soap production to employing three people and meeting my needs, it’s been an incredible journey.”
Hellen Njelewa a Mzuzu based customer praised Sidoma’s products, saying, their products have transformed her skin.
“I have seen significant improvement in just a few weeks, I used to have a bad acne, but not anymore, receive your flowers wherever you are for introducing this,” she said.
Mantchombe’s success story serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, one of the them is Yakosa Gowelo from Lilongwe, who runs a cosmetic shop, has described the products as top-notch.
Sidoma Investments’ partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI) has enabled her to register her company with the Malawi Bureau of Standards.
