Mangochi Female Entreprenuer Thrives in Value Addition Production

Mangochi-based female entrepreneur, Suzan Ali Mzunga is making a name in the local food scene with her unique products.

Ali Mzunga is the founder and managing director of AHSULU Food Enterprise, a company that specialises in the packaging of Honey products and production of Baobab related products such as Juice and Jam.

Established in 2020, Mzunga’s company is slowly making a name for itself, producing nutritious products using locally available resources.

“Since I was young, I have always wanted to establish something tangible and having this company is like a dream coming true for me,” Mzunga said.

Through AHSULU Food Enterprise, Mzunga procures Honey and Baobab from local farmers in Mangochi.

For Honey, the product is carefully processed and packaged in attractive containers, ready for market.

For Baobab, a careful production process is initiated to come up with products such as Juice and Jam.

“I have spent all my life perfecting my recipes and ensuring that every product that leaves my factory is both nutritious and of high quality,” said Mzunga.

She has meanwhile indicated that her dream is to expand the company’s production capacity in a bid to meet the demand.

“My company is currently located at the backyard of my house, making it almost impossible to expand,” said Mzunga.

Meanwhile, Lilongwe-based business expert and lecturer in commerce at the Lake Malawi University, Vincent Matiya Chirwa has hailed Mzunga, urging authorities to support her venture.
