MALAWI’S YOUNG IT GRADUATE GEARS UP FOR YALI ALUMNI EXPO

A 23-old Stephano Mabzinesi Patrick has been selected to participate in the prestigious YALI Alumni Expo and Trade Show in Cape Town, South Africa.

The event, scheduled for November 11-14, 2024, brings together young African leaders making significant impact on their communities.

“I feel very privileged to attend this high-profile event as a young innovator representing my country,” said Stephano.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to engage with industry leaders, showcase my work and explore partnerships that could help scale my projects.”

A graduate of the University of Malawi with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Network Engineering, Stephano specialises in designing, implementing and managing network systems with a strong emphasis on network security, Internet of Things (IoT) and software engineering.

The YALI Expo and Trade Show promises to be an enriching experience, featuring presentations, workshops, and networking sessions with world-class speakers, experts and change-makers from across the continent.

Stephano looks forward to learning and engaging with fellow bright minds from Africa.

“This trip has been funded by USAID as part of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Legacy Localization Activity, with additional support from the University of Malawi Centre for Resilient Agri-food Systems (CRAFS),” said Stephano.

Diverson Kashe, an innovation expert from the University of Malawi, hailed Stephano’s selection as a great opportunity for the university graduate to showcase his inventions and be at the forefront of innovation and sustainability.

“Stephano’s presence at the YALI Alumni Expo and Trade Show will help attract diverse stakeholders, including potential investors,” Kashe noted.

One of Stephano’s key projects is the Farmers Community Hub, is Nzeru Mkupangwa, a platform connecting farmers with essential information and market opportunities.

The YALI Alumni Expo and Trade Show is expected to draw over 500 young leaders from 42 African countries, providing a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
