Malawi National Women’s Footballer Rose Kabzere shone brighter in her team’s 2-2 draw over Nantes in the French top women’s football league match on Saturday.
She came on as a second half substitute to inspire her team to the away draw with two goals scored inside 10 minutes of each other.
Kabzere equalised in the 75th minute after the hosts sprung to an early lead in the 7th minute. She put her side on course to victory in the 85th minute only for the hosts to spoil the party deep in added on time.
The draw was enough for the team to maintain their ninth position with 26 points from 18 matches.
In a related development, Kabzere’s compatriot and Malawi National Football Team captain Tabitha Chawinga’s team Lyon thrashed Sant-Etienne 5-0.
But Chawinga, who inspired her team to a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg, missed the party.
Lyon lead the table with 52 points followed by Paris who have 42 points and third-placed PSG at 41 points.
