Love Inspires Jomo to Help The Elderly

In a heartwarming display of compassion, Isaac Jomo Osman has dedicated himself to improving the lives of elderly people in his community.

What started as a small project in 2012 has grown to support 250 elderly individuals, providing them with essential necessities and even building new homes.

“It was out of love that I decided to start helping the elderly with the little that I have after seeing the struggles they face daily, I knew I had to act,” Jomo explained.

One of the beneficiaries, Estere Jemusi, expressed her deepest gratitude to Jomo.

“I now have a house, built by Jomo and I don’t take this for granted. Without him, I would have been homeless today.”

Jomo’s selfishless work is guided by a popular African proverb: “An old man sitting down sees further than a young man standing up.” He has learned invaluable lessons from the elderly, which have helped him in his daily life.

“There’s a lot that I’ve learned from the elders and I’m still learning,” Jomo added. “I meet with them every Wednesday in Bangwe at Namatapa.”

Jomo’s remarkable example serves as a call to action for others to follow in his footsteps.

“I encourage people of goodwill to emulate my example and start helping the needy with the little that they have,” he said.
