Local governance structures in Nsanje have been advised to understand government policy documents for them to effectively monitor the implementation of projects in their areas.
Malawi Human Rights Resources Centre ( MHRRC) Capacity Development Associate (CDA) Noel Msiska said the local governance committees were not well informed on the policy documents.
Speaking to ProjectM, Msiska said the day-long training is going to equip them with knowledge of the policy document.
He said the local governance structures such as the Area Development Committee and Village Development Committee were unable to trace and track down all resources meant for developments.
“This training is going to empower the committees,” he said.
Chairperson for Traditional Authority Mbenje ADC, Vision Vinti hailed the MHRRC for the training.
He said the training has come at the right time.
