Lilongwe-Based Youth Thrives From Rabbit Farming

A Lilongwe-based ambitious farmer cum entreprenuer, Emmanuel Ngozo has achieved enviable success through rabbit farming.

Ngozo’s farming venture started in 2023 with just 10 rabbits and has grown exponentially to house over 560 rabbits.

He has told ProjectM in an interview that his journey to success started from humble beginnings with perseverance, hard work and meticulous planning.

“Everything you are seeing here begun with just 10 rabbits, but I had a clear vision of where I wanted to take my business,” said Ngozo.

Through his enterprise, Ngozo generates an impressive average income of K300,000 every month.

“This is made possible through the sale of rabbit products such as meat and manure. In case you didn’t know that these animals produce quality manure,” said Ngozo.

The business has also helped Ngozo acquire a plot of land where he plans to construct a bigger house capable of housing over 10,000 rabbits.

“This venture has also helped me to venture into crop husbandry, I have a piece of land where I grow maize using manure from rabbits,” he added.

Going forward, Emmanuel plans to expand his venture and employ several people to help him run day-to-day affairs of his farm.

Lilongwe-based agricultural expert Tapiwa Chilambula has hailed Ngozo, urging other youths to emulate the same.

“Emmanuel is a genius mainly for venturing into a type of farming which is profitable and doesn’t require complex expertise,” said Chilambula.
