LILONGWE BASED ENTREPRENUER TURNS DISCARDED BOTTLES INTO ECO-FRIENDLY TUMBLERS

A Lilongwe-based talented entrepreneur, Gift Chisale is making a name for himself by turning discarded glass bottles into beautifully crafted tumblers.

The innovative venture is not only helping Chisale to earn a living, but also contributing to the reduction of environmental waste.

He has told ProjectM in an interview that his passion for environmental conservation and entreprenuership led him to start transforming what would have otherwise been waste into valuable eco-friendly products.

His creative process involves collecting discarded beer and soft drink bottles, which are then carefully cleaned, cut and shaped into functional tumblers.

“I wanted to find a way to make a positive impact on the environment while also generating income and I am proud to have settled for this,” Chisale said.

Chisale’s products have gained popularity among locals who appreciate the unique, handmade touch and the eco-friendly aspect of the tumblers.

“As my business continues to grow, I personally remain committed to the mission of reducing waste and promoting sustainability,” said Chisale.

Meanwhile, renowned environmental activist Edward Chidombe Msiska has hailed Chisale, saying his innovative entrepreneurial venture is inspiring others to think creatively about waste management.

“I personally know Gift because I have mentored him through a project called Local Green Innovation Project (LOGIC) and I am proud that he is performing wonders,” said Msiska.

Chisale’s vision is to see his business enterprise thrive into a multimillion venture capable of supplying tumblers across Malawi.
