For the first time in the history of the Lake of Stars Festival, this year’s fiesta, scheduled for 6 to 8 September, will take place at Fish Eagle Bay Lodge, about 20 kilometres from Nkhotakota boma.

After the announcement, ProjectM entertainment enthusiasts in Nkhotakota district applauded the arrangement, saying it will promote tourism in the district.

Arts and Entertainment journalist Ivy Tunkete Mwanyongo expressed contentment with the district hosting the arts festival.

He said: “It’s a privilege for our district to host such a big event which attracts not only artists but people from all over across the country and neighbouring countries.

“Apart from boosting domestic tourism, the move will also  create a platform for international connection in the circle of tourism which is beneficial to the district and the country.”

Addressing journalists, Head of Projects and Productions at Lake of Stars, Sharmila Elias confirmed that the district has been chosen as it has not hosted an international arts festival before and this will expose the district further.

Meanwhile, Fish Eagle Nkhotakota San Manager, Anchen Jooste has promised entertainment fans the best during the show.

This year’s Lake of Stars marks the 20th anniversary. But organisers are yet to announce local and international artists who will perform.

The organisers have also said that early ticket sales started on 12 April 2024.
